Hello! If you are receiving this, then we had the pleasure of meeting you at New World Comic Con! Or perhaps you stumbled upon a link somewhere in the realm of social media or maybe even a friend sent you our way. No matter how you got here, Welcome to the NEW STAR DISPATCH, the official newsletter of New Star Comics! Today serves as our initial missive, a chance to introduce ourselves and let you know what to expect in the months ahead.
New Star Comics is an up-and-coming comic publishing company based in the Oklahoma City metro area that’s ready to tell new comics stories the likes of which has never been seen! We are building a new universe and glad to have you on the ground floor. We have released two series of books so far with 3 issues each. Let’s take a look!
THE MIGHTY BOOMERS
You know the Avengers right? Bunch of whiny prima donnas compared to the Mighty Boomers. This series follows a team of Oklahoma-based superheroes as they fight crime and villainy around the metro area! We have a 10-issue arc in the works with the first 3 on the shelves of New World Comics as we speak with the 4th due out soon. We will introduce you to the team over subsequent issues of this newsletter.
GARBAGE MAN
Maybe you like your comics with fewer superheroes and a little more street-level, dirt and grime vigilantism with face-punching justice. Then Garbage Man is for you! An ex-soldier and current homeless man discovers a conspiracy involving the homeless population of Oklahoma City and must find the strength to fight and stop it! All while dealing with the difficulties of living on the streets. As with the Boomers, we have a 10-issue arc planned for Garbage Man with the first 3 on New World’s shelves with the 4th due out soon.
Both The Mighty Boomers and Garbage Man take place in Oklahoma City and inhabit the same world. And these two are just the start, we have more titles in various levels of pre-production and production including Tales from the Shadows, a look at the darker and stranger side of the New Star Universe; Fly Guy, the story of a young genius imbued with amazing powers; and many more! You’ll learn all about these in the months to come.
To start, this newsletter will be sent to your inboxes once each month. As we grow, we plan on eventually transitioning to a weekly newsletter while also adding in a paid subscription which would contain various exclusives and a lot more behind the scenes content. But that’s in the future, what can you expect from the current iteration of this newsletter?

Here we talk about current projects and their status. If there’s a new issue or project to be announced this is where you’ll find it. You also get updates on Kickstarter progress and anything else new when it comes to New Star Comics.

Here we give a glimpse of a book about to be released along with all the details on how to get it.
CHARACTER OF THE WEEK
For each newsletter we present actual case files from the archives of the Metahuman Containment Agency detailing one of the heroes or villains from the New Star world. The MCA is the primary agency asked with monitoring/containing the metahuman situation in and around the OKC area.
More sections will be added as this newsletter grows and adapts.
