Jingle Bells, Thunderbolt smells, Scissortail laid an egg! The BoomerMobile lost its wheel and the Twister got away, hey! Welcome to the most wonderful time of the year, brought to you by New Star Dispatch #4! It is the Christmas season which means decorations, trees, tinsel, lots of food, and Hallmark Christmas movies! Now I know what some of you are thinking…those movies are all the same! Yeah, so what? What’s your favorite food? It’s the same every time, right? Right?!? Whoa, sorry about that outburst…okay, moving on…
It is the holiday season which means Christmas shopping is in full swing. And what’s a better gift to give than comics? Especially New Star Comics! We have some great info about how you can fill your loved one’s stocking with Oklahoma-based comics a little later in this newsletter. With the weather getting even colder there’s nothing like curling up by the fire to read about the adventures of Garbage Man and the Mighty Boomers.
We have a lot of stuff to get to in this Dispatch but first we just want to thank everyone for subscribing to the newsletter. WHAT’S NEW/ANNOUNCEMENTS
What’s Christmas without a Christmas special?? Well, boy do we have one for you! The New Star 2022 Holiday Special hits stores next week! The special, featuring heroes and villains from across the New Star line, weaves together three individual stories into one Christmas adventure! The special also introduces our newest character, Unearth! He also happens to be our Character of the Month so you can learn all about him a little bit later in the Dispatch. The holiday special will be on the shelves of New World Comics (6219 N Meridian Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73112) in Oklahoma City and Speeding Bullet Comics (614 N Porter Ave, Norman, OK 73071) in Norman! We hope you check it out. Makes a great stocking stuffer!
Do you or one of your intended gift recipients prefer to read comics digitally? We now have that option available! We’re working on putting a website together to make such purchases easier but for now we are selling digital copies via email. We have the following issues available:

SIGNING
As mentioned in Dispatch #3, New Star Comics had a signing last month at Speeding Bullet Comics in Norman! We had a lot of fun chatting with new fans and signing issues of New Star Team-Up #1! We gained a few new subscribers as well. Thanks to all who came out to see us and we hope to do it again soon! Stay tuned to the Dispatch for future signing/launch party dates!
END OF YEAR RECAP
We just have a few weeks left in 2022 and what a year it was! New Star attended its first major conventions including SoonerCon in June and New World Comic-Con at the end of July. We had a lot of fun, met a lot of new fans, and introduced them to New Star!
As mentioned earlier, we had our first ever signing/launch party in 2022. Nothing beats a day at a comic shop!
We introduced a new series in 2022 (New Star Team-Up), released our first holiday special (New Star Holiday Special 2022), and printed preview issues of both The Mighty Boomers #4 and Garbage Man #4!
We’ve been hard at work behind the scenes as well, writing and illustrating future issues and creating brand new series! Some of these you will see in-
2023
We got a lot of big plans for 2023! We will be back at both SoonerCon and the New World Comic-Con this summer and hope to have a few more signings/appearances as well. We aim to get issues 4-6 (or 7) of both Garbage Man and the Mighty Boomers on store shelves by 2024 along with other New Star series such as Fly Guy, Tales from the Shadows, and more! We hope to have more team-up issues as well. We are also going to get an official website up and running and hopefully make our newsletter bigger and better! Finally, we hope to produce a short film version of Garbage Man! It’s gonna be a great year!

Yes! We have plenty of team-up adventures in the works featuring expected collaborations (Scissortail/Garbage Man) and maybe those you wouldn’t expect (Spirit/Reload). Keep your eyes peeled for the Dispatch each month for all the news!
